The Awesomeness of Bambi Cantrell

Drum roll, please… Enter: Bambi Cantrell. I already love the name by itself, but Bambi adds a world of meaning to her name and her as a person. Bambi is an awesome photographer, and amazing business woman, a giver, and she definitely knows 100% what she is talking about. There was only one major disappointment: the shortness of time with Bambi. I wish, as we all did, that the workshop could go for a few days. I think we all listened so intently that our brains hurt for a day or two after.  Bambi is also very funny. We shared many laughs as we clumsily went through practicing posing and as she used her favorite model of the day, Skip Cohen, who organized this great learning experience. Brent and Teri Ann Watkins were gracious enough to open the doors of their studio (Sylvart Studios) in Barberton, OH, so that the bunch of us could sit there in awe and total amazement. On a side note, their studio is super super cool. The extra rooms and gorgeous light for shooting made me drool the whole day.

I’ve learned a lot. Even if I retained only 10%, it will help me tremendously in any future session or wedding or personal projects.

If you’d like to be a part of any of the future fabulous workshops in Akron, OH, just go here to check out the schedule for APS (akron photo series).

Enjoy the photos!

Thank you so much, Lisa. I can’t take all the credit. These are good only because Bambi showed us the posing that she would do with a couple and the light she seeks in every location. Yes, she is amazing. I try to look for more affordable workshops instead of going to WPPI or other large conventions that might cost a lot. I’d love to go to WPPI, for example, one day, but for now, I need to learn and absorb as much as possible. Babmi is doing a free webinar on posing on Creative Live. You might like that.

If you’d like, I can email you any of the workshops that I come across that are more in the ‘beginner business owner’ budget. :)

I SO wanted to go to this! I sat in on her workshop at PPE this fall and fell in love! Your images are beautiful…I’m glad you had a good time. Hopefully next time! Wow…you sure do catch a lot of workshops…I’m jealous! :)
